Medina Hospital’s Emergency Department Receives Award

This summer, Medina Hospital’s Emergency Department was awarded with the Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award for demonstrating exceptional care and performance in advocacy, education, leadership, practice and research. Avon Brewing Co. Opening New Location in Medina

In July, Avon Brewing Co. announced it would be opening a new location in Medina County. The location will fittingly be called Medina Brewing Co. According to The Medina Gazette, both food and beer will be available, and it will hopefully open later this month or in November. 

No Bunnies for You

This was the first year that real rabbits were not offered as prizes at the Medina County Fair. (They were not sold either.) According to The Medina Gazette, “The notion that little children could play a carnival game and emerge the owners of young rabbits was the subject of an online petition—and social media fodder—on PetitionSite.com that garnered 550 signatures.” Although it is impossible to determine if the petition had an impact, the concession vendors decided there would be no free bunnies at the 174th fair. 

Medina Hospital Life Support Team Awarded for Fifth Consecutive Year

The Medina Hospital Life Support Team has been presented with the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline – EMS Gold Plus award for their commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care. This is the fifth year in a row that the team has received the award. It also allows the team to join an elite group of pre-hospital agencies recognized by the AHA.
