In 2014, The Women’s Auxiliary of The Salvation Army of Medina hosted their first fashion show and brought in over $3,500 to support their various community-based programs. These programs include Learning Zone (an after school tutoring program for elementary aged children), Kids Club (children work on life skills such as cooking), Bible Study, Women’s Ministries, M.U.N.C.H. (a hot meal program open to anyone in the community) and so much more. This year, the theme will be “Derby Divas.”
The fashion show will take place May 5 at 7 pm, and the show will be held at A.I. Root Candle Company, 623 West Liberty Street, Medina.
“We are first a church then a social services organization,” says Lieutenant Cristina Spencer. “Our mission is to spread the gospel in different ways. The money we raise from the show goes directly to our programs to support the Medina-area community. The best thing about our mission is that we are able to make a positive impact while having a lot of fun.”
