I don’t know much about cars. Putting together this month’s magazine was a bit of a challenge for me; that is, until I started interviewing some of our county’s savviest car experts. Now I know a lot more about cars, although you won’t find me test driving a race car any time soon.
Speaking of race cars, we’re very excited to have Medina resident Ryan Lutz on board this month. If you don’t know his name already, Ryan is a professional champion who has made his mark in the rarefied air of Remote Control car racing. Who knew you could make a living — and a good one — racing Remote Control cars? Ryan, at the top of his field, gives us a peek at how it all started in his inspiring Parting Thoughts article.
Then there’s our good friend Chuck Steward, commercial sales manager at Medina Auto Mall. Chuck introduced me to the car of my dreams — the Buick Cascada, a sleek and luxurious convertible perfect for top-down driving under sunny summer skies. If you haven’t already stopped in to meet Chuck and see the Cascada, I recommend you head down Route 18 for a test spin.
If anybody knows how to get the most out of a test spin, it’s our adventurous co-publisher Donna Tomak. From an eight-minute white-knuckle race around the High Voltage Indoor Karting track to a born-to-be-wild ride on the three-wheeled Polaris Slingshot, Donna is, quite simply, fearless. Read all about it in Donna’s Picks.
As always, we’re inspired by the people and events in our community. Keep in touch.
